Golf Swing Pane-Trying to Find the Solution to the Problem

golf swing plane

The golf swing plane is one of the most important aspects of your golf game. It doesn’t matter if you’re an amateur just trying to reach the 19th hole under 100, or an avid golfer trying to lower your handicap. The golf swing plane allows you to be more accurate, accumulate more distance, and eventually shave strokes off your game.

Today we wanted to cover a couple ways you can build a golf swing plane that is perfect for you. It’s no secret that each one is different due to height, size, and various other attributes, but there are many similarities. Understanding all of it will give you a better approach to your game. Plus you will enjoy much better scores.

3 Sections

It’s important to understand that the golf swing plane is made up of three different sections; the backswing, the downswing, and the follow-through. If two of them are perfect, but the other is off-kilter, your entire swing can be thrown for a loop. While each one needs to be perfected, there also has to be a good golf swing tempo at the same time.

Having the Right Golf Swing Plane First

While we will tell you that it’s important to practice this over and over again, you don’t want to create bad habits. If you are doing something wrong and then going to range, chances are you’re practicing the wrong methods. So make sure you take the time to learn whether or not your swing is the right one for your game.

We recommend recording your swing, doing it in front of the mirror, or having a personal trainer critique it for you. If you do have a coach, let him or her in on what you are trying to accomplish. Chances are they can make things a lot easier for you. If you don’t, try to keep track of issues you have each time you’re practicing. This can help you find the answer.

On Course Adjustments

If your golf swing plane is off, you probably don’t want to make on course adjustments. More times than not you will be left even more frustrated, and wonder what the heck is going on. The best thing to do is compensate for the rest of the round as best you can. Be sure to analyze whether or not your balls are falling short, you’re not hitting the greens, or anything else that comes to mind.

Don’t Forget your Stance

You will find that one of the best places to look is your stance. Even if you have had the same one for years, it’s possible that something else has made you address the ball differently. Maybe it’s an injury, a growth issue, or your weight has fluctuated. While most people believe this isn’t a big deal, it can make all the difference in your golf swing plane.

In the end you just need to evaluate everything. However, it’s important to take it one section at a time. Maybe your golf swing plane isn’t working because your elbow doesn’t stay tucked. Then again, maybe your weight shifting is leaving you unbalanced in your downswing and follow-through. Whatever the case may be you have the opportunity to fix it. When you do, your golf swing plane will change your game for the better.
